Non-State Supported / State-Supported flag

Desc of Issue: Non-State Supported / State-Supported flag

Description of this data issue:

This is in regards to the discussion that took place at the Student Records User Group meeting on 2/21 regarding agenda item 2 - state supported/non-state supported flagging in SIS. Attached is a report that summarizes the total number of records on CLAS with data in the 10 class flag fields or the 15 reporting code fields. These flags and codes can be seen/updated in SIS on the CLFG screen but the data is stored on the CLAS table. For the report, we included all terms on the CLAS table. The group had not decided on whether a 1 character flag or 4 character code would be the best way to store this data so we provided a count of all of the flag fields and the reporting code fields. Based on the counts, it looks like flags 3 through 9 are available at all 7 institutions. If a reporting code is to be used, the best options are reporting codes 7 through 14. CSN and TMCC have a few entries in these that could possibly be removed. I have put a copy of the focexec named CLASFLGS in copyexec in case you want to run this for your institution. There is a parm for the focexec named INST to print your institutions acronym in the report heading. The group can use this information to make their decision on which field to use, depending on whether a flag or reporting code is needed.
