Desc of Issue: UNLV SIS Data Cleanup
Description of this data issue: Description The goal of this project is to clean all data within the current Student Information System (SIS) that may be converted during the iNtegrate project.
The purpose of this project is to ensure data entering the new system is as accurate as possible. A byproduct of the project will be a more thorough understanding of each institution’s data.
Tasks to be addressed include:
• Establish a working group to guide the process
• Establish parameters for age of data to be converted and therefore cleansed
• Establish parameters for data elements to be converted and therefore cleansed
• Identify data elements to be cleansed
• Establish validity checks for each data element
• Establish methodology – including archiving
• Create programs to identify invalid data
• Clean data – manually or programmatically
• Audit results
