University Data Quality Administrator
The University Data Quality Administrator directs the data Governance function at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, providing leadership in management of data as a university asset that supports its central mission. Managing data includes working together with university administrators to establish coherent policies governing UNLV’s enterprise data that will ensure responsible creation, maintenance, use of and access to institutional data, leading to efficiency and consistency across university systems. The Data Quality Administrator acts as an educator and advocate for senior management and the campus community at large for the concept of data as a critical resource.
Responsibilities include:
Develop campus data policies and procedures, and coordinate a campus wide process to develop data access and standards policies that will improve data accuracy, integrity, and access.
Monitor compliance with data standards; facilitate campus-wide agreement and resolution of data issues. Acts as consensus builder in the application of data standards by bringing people to the table to discuss data issues and resolving disagreements that may arise.
Provide leadership for and develop a university-wide enterprise data model and architecture that will serve as a framework for technological decisions with goals to conserve resources and reduce data redundancy by supporting sharing and integrating of data rather than replicating it in multiple sources.
Responsible for preparation of data dictionary and inventory of enterprise systems;
Coordinate with data trustees to provide for security and privacy of data, and assist them in establishing policies and procedures on access to data, ensuring service continuity and responsible use.
