1. Data Management User Groups Discussion
Summary:
The UNLV Data Governance Structure is derived from the Summary Proposal for a University Data Management Structure, approved by CIOC, 3-2005 and by Cabinet, 4-2005. The Executive Sponsors agreed that user groups should be formed, with the membership represented on the DGCouncil web site. Executive Sponsors agreed to help you as necessary to bring them together.
- First step is to establish “who” will be part of the Data Users Groups with oversight provided by Executive Sponsors.
Data Stewards will have a list of members for their specific Data User Group by January 9th Data Governance Council meeting.
2. Preview of Data Governance use of the TMA system to manage data management projects
Demonstration by Rick Storlie, Frank Lucas & Indika Jayasekera
- TMA system allows Executive Sponsors and data stewards to do a variety of task including requesting reports, saving reports, and tracking projects.
- The user list will be managed by Data Stewards and Executive Sponsors
- Site will be accessible online
- Each Data Steward will be responsible for tracking time to complete their projects
