1. Kari Coburn - Preparation and Planning for UNLV Accreditation process, Institutional Data Network/committee
President Ashley is pulling together a group of individuals called the Institutional Data Network/committee that are experts in their area’s administrative data. Many of them are also data stewards or data administrators.
For the immediate future, this group will be supporting the accreditation self-study process that will be completed by Spring 2010. There are many exhibits, including data tables, studies, and survey results that are required. Much of this information is already available or produced regularly. It will be important to identify as early as possible those key individuals who will be collecting and supplying data for the self-study.
Its long term involvement includes:
- Serving as a coordinating body to provide accurate institutional research information by establishing consistent definitions, data sources, and timing for reports;
- Unifying data expertise to provide more accurate and timely information for decision-makers and strategic planning efforts;
- Providing consistent and accurate data to external sources;
- Responding to information requests about the university in a unified way.
The DG Council will be part of or closely connected through working relationships, to the group of individuals identifying and defining the data that will be presented to external and internal audiences as the face of the university.
The DG Council will also determine the logical respondents for the relevant exhibits, data definitions, report formats, and ultimately, timeframes and deadlines for the data exhibits.
