Update on Data Management Issues

Issues that are not being worked on -- Please take a look at the list on the web site - how should these be addressed?

We will go over them and decide whether to put into system, or eliminate.

Tracking database
Data Management issues will be tracked using the TMA system. The data management council will be established as an iService desk.

Discussion - let's decide what the language will be for the statement.
It will be sent to the Executive Sponsors so that they can distribute it to their own areas.

Data Dictionary
Brief summary of Metadata Solutions Workshop that Lynne will have attended earlier in the week. It is titled "How to Evaluate, Select, and Implement your Metadata Management Solution", and should provide excellent insight into the steps we need to take to create a workable data dictionary. Attendees include Paul Landrum, data administrator at NSHE, and Ray Buehne, UNLV IT.

OIT Security Discussion
An overview of the next 2 policies, that will help prepare us for a risk analysis discussion.
